Workshop in Musaffah quoted me 900 for an alternator job, is that fair?

Dropped my Camry at a garage in Musaffah industrial area after the charging light came on and they told me the alternator needs replacing, quoting around 900 dirhams including labour. I've never had this done before so I have no idea if that's reasonable or if I'm being taken for a ride. A colleague said the part alone shouldn't be that much and that I could probably handle it myself with the right instructions. But I work six days a week and don't have a garage, so realistically I'd be doing it in the parking lot. Has anyone here attempted this kind of job without a proper space? And does 900 sound about right or should I get a second quote?
